It has also recorded huge growth in its cargo volume. This signifies the massive developments that have been brought about in the port sector in the past few years. Adani Airport Records Excellent Growth In Cargo Volume and Passenger Traffic

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport which is managed by the Adani Group has recently reported a double-digit growth in the number of passengers and cargo during the third quarter of 2025. Over 3.5 million passengers took flights to and from the airport. This is 18% more than the previous year’s numbers. Out of 3 billion, the aircraft traffic movement also saw a rise of 15% with the SVPI airport which is currently managing  27,000 Air Traffic Movements during the October-December quarter.

On 22nd December 2024, the airport witnessed 44,253 passenger movements along with 324 Air Traffic Movements. This is the highest for the current financial year. This was followed by December 13 and December 12 when the airport served 43,881 passengers with 318 Air Traffic Movements and 43,408 Passengers with 325 Air Traffic Movements respectively. Now this is an extraordinary benchmark achieved by the Adani Group in the airport sector. It will put aside the controversies of the Adani Scam and allow the business group to rise to the position of being one of the most reliable groups on a global scale.

Various Developments Brought About At The SVPIA In The Past Few Years

In the past few years, the Ahmedabad airport saw multiple infrastructural innovations and expansions. This included the Terminal-2 of the airport having extended, check-in halls, inter-terminal electric shuttle service, Wi-Fi coupon dispenser for travellers having non-Indian SIM cards, new flights to Guwahati, Dimapur, Da Nang, Thiruvananthapuram, Kuwait, and Kolhapur. It also witnessed additional frequencies to Kolkata and Kochi in December. The airport earned the prestigious Certificate of Merit at the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2024. This was organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power. It further stated that with several international airlines now managing, the cargo numbers also witnessed a significant growth of 17% in Q3 as compared to the same year-ago period. The SVPI airport also handled 17,900 million tons of cargo. This included 1,850 million tons of international cargo which has seen a rise of over 300% over the financial year’s Q3 numbers.
