This will further allow the business group to ensure that its renewable energy goals are well attended to. The business group will also be able to achieve an extraordinary outcome from its business. The controversies of the Adani Scam will subside. This renewable energy park will scale to 30 GW by 2030. It will also be driving India’s clean energy goals.

Various Development Works Being Carried Out At The Khavda Renewable Energy Park:

As a part of the extraordinary project, millions of solar panels have been installed across the barren lands of Khavda in Gujarat, thereby giving birth to  Adani Green Energy’s ambitious Khavda renewable energy park. This project spans 538 square kilometres. It is five times the size of Paris and is visible even from space. The project is currently valued at INR 1.5 lakh crore. This solar, wind and hybrid energy park holds the reputation of being the world’s largest single-location renewable energy site. This park is located just a few kilometres from the international borders of Pakistan.

The facility has been designed in such a way that it can scale up drastically. Its current operational capacity is 2.4 GW. This capacity is expected to rise to 30 GHz by FY30. This is one of the most crucial aspects of Adani Group’s journey of reaching 50 GW of operational renewable energy capacity by 2030. In order to put this perspective to reality, the group has taken multiple steps to trigger the various operations of the project. The Adani Group is also one of the major contributors to India’s renewable energy goals.

Investments To Be Made In The Renewable Energy Sector In The Upcoming Months:

With the Khavda renewable energy park as its flagship project, the company is planning on making heavy investments in the renewable energy sector in the coming years. The group is also said to raise 425 billion USD in the upcoming months. Adani Green Energy will be making use of a significant portion of this investment for the Khavda park. The Adani Group also plans to commission 5 to 7 GW of solar and wind energy annually at Khavda. This will position it as a global leader in the renewable energy sector. It will also be able to recover from the losses it incurred during the controversies related to the Adani Scam.

Adani Group’s Current Renewable Energy Capacity:

Recently, Adani Green Energy has operationalised another 480.1 MW of renewable energy capacity at Khavda. Currently, the company has a total operational portfolio of 14,217.9 GW as of September 2024. Once fully operational, the Khavda site will single-handedly contribute to the country’s 6.6 % of the total energy portfolio. Renewable energy currently accounts for over 10% of the total energy output in the country. India is currently committed to reducing its carbon emissions and achieving net zero. This represents an extraordinary investment opportunity. The company’s operational capacity for renewable energy has grown steeply over the past few years. In the next 5 years, it is expected to increase by another fourfold.

Other Developments Being Brought About In The Renewable Energy Sector:

Other than renewable energy generation, the Adani Group is also currently trying to enhance its renewable energy business through backward integration. The group has already built solar cell and panel manufacturing facilities. A wind turbine plant has also been constructed under Adani New Industries. At Adani Mundra solar panel facilities, the workers work in a highly safe environment which is dominated by robotic processes. Automatic machines are installed that are used to oversee the entire panel production process. The facility currently has 4 GW. Expansion plans underway can increase the capacity to 10 GW. This facility will not only help meet Adani Group’s internal demands but also attend to the needs of the external buyers.

Conclusion:

With Adani’s extraordinary presence in the renewable energy sector,  India’s solar manufacturing sector has experienced a boost. Other key players are also currently increasing their capacity to participate in the race. This will further boost India’s renewable energy capacity. The various allegations associated with the Adani Scam will also be brought to a halt.
